   INDEPENDENT SENIOR LIVING WITH CARE
When deciding what’s best for an older relative with care needs, it can seem like residential care homes are the only option.
The benefit of Season’s Senior Living apartments is to offer an alternative to residential care, ensuring housing, social, health, support and care needs are met, within independent fully supported flats. It reduces isolation and encourages social stimulation, maintains relationships, and meets the needs of a diverse community.
Season apartments, including Millcroft in Oxfordshire, can provide high levels of care 24/7 whilst allowing residents to maintain their independence with their own front door and come and go as they please, inviting friends and family to share a meal in our restaurant.
At Season we cater for residents with low care needs by promoting wellbeing and an active lifestyle, as well as supporting housekeeping and socialisation. We can also support residents with much more complex needs several times a day through tailored packages of care and can support people right up to the end of their life
in their own home.
Our carers are visitors in residents’ apartments as invited guests, “we always remember we are working in their home, they are not living in our workplace” said Anna, a carer at Millcroft.
Anna became a carer after supporting her grandmother in her final years, she has worked in residential care before, but likes this type of independent living that Season offers residents. She says, “we can support people in the same way as in a residential home, but the personal space people living here get is much larger, with a lounge and bathroom and we can support them to cook if they want to in their own lovely fitted kitchen.
We keep care plans and daily records in exactly the same way too, so all care is
tailored to the individual person’s needs and their personal preferences are accommodated and respected.”
These detailed, personalised care plans can provide the same level of care they would receive in a residential care home setting but with the benefit of residents maintaining their independence for as long as possible. Care plans are prepared after first assessing the potential resident’s care needs, they are built upon as time goes by and needs change. A daily record is also kept and key information is handed over at every care staff shift change.
bathroom with walkin shower. There is even a guest apartment with an ensuite bathroom which family and friends can book for a small fee.
These spacious apartments are complemented by stunning communal areas, a restaurant, bar, cinema, lounges, salon, spa bath and landscaped gardens, with wifi throughout.

Nancy’s story: Nancy was the first resident to move into Season’s Oxfordshire scheme, Millcroft in late summer 2017 and she’s enjoying the opportunities of this new and vibrant community.
Nancy had been struggling at home, but really did not relish the thought of a care home. She says: “Millcroft is the best of both worlds, I have my independent, spacious flat and my own front door, but I have a package of care to support me which will change as my needs change, that’s really reassuring.”
Nancy was able to contribute to her care package so feels nothing has been imposed on her, she chooses when to get up or go to bed, when to eat, rest, shop, or go out to visit friends and family. She loves getting dressed up for lunch and having a nice meal and socialising with other residents.
