NEIL EASTWOOD INTERVIEW|HOW TO FIND AND KEEP GREAT CARE STAFF IN OXFORDSHIRE
Neil Eastwood on how to find and keep great care staff in Oxfordshire
           the interview...
Talking Care caught up with Neil Eastwood, author, recruitment and retention expert and Founder of Sticky People, to find out more about his views on building and maintaining a caring workforce and his new book on this topic>
Many readers will have attended your presentations at OACP and OCC events, but for those who don’t know you, can you introduce yourself?
NE: Certainly. I suppose I would describe myself as a onetrick pony, with my one trick being how we can build and maintain a quality frontline care workforce. So, most of what I do revolves around solving this question.
It probably all started in my childhood as I was brought up in a vicarage, so helping older people and the vulnerable in society
was simply part of life. After a career in healthcare and social care, I founded a company, Sticky People, to provide ideas and technology to help care providers find, screen and keep care workers. I also spent years studying how the best care employers around the world recruit and retain. I share my research findings with audiences around the UK and internationally. There was so much to say but never enough time on stage to cover it all, so decided to write a book.
Can you tell us more about the book and your experience writing it?
NE: The book is called Saving Social Care – How to find more of the best frontline care employees and keep the ones you have. It contains practical tips and proven techniques to help care providers, or those with personal budgets sourcing their own staff, to hire the best quality staff and simple ways of keeping them longer.
